SSSM replacing Aadhar card in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh will soon become the first state to transfer cash to beneficiaries without Aadhar card. For this state government has launched Integrated Social Security Mission (SSSM) under which stats will be collected from each family. With this cash benefits of various schemes can be transferred into the accounts of beneficiaries. Recently state government organized a goal maze summit on SSSM with senior officials in which officials were told that how without Aadhar card benefits can be transferred to the beneficiaries. The state government also recently tested the electronic fund transfer system under which wages of remote beneficiaries of MNREGA scheme were credited into their accounts.
SSSM is different from Aadhar card because under this stats will be collected by visiting every house and all families will come under it. Details collected under SSSM include caste, profession, registration in other schemes etc. Modification of data is also done under this which includes addition of birth, death and other information. An official said that connectivity is needed for Aadhar card while SSSM works on the basis of modularity. MP has developed such an infrastructure through which every pensioner and MNREGA beneficiary will get benefits under direct benefit transfer. Later on state scholarship, health related benefits and other payments will be brought under its sphere. According to the official, information of about 80% state families have been prepared. At present benefits are being transferred into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through SSSM in 15 districts of the state.
Staff members of Aadhaar enrollment agencies were caught red handed for taking bribes from the people in Dombivli, Kalyan. The employees were actually caught in a sting operation run by a NCP politician Nitin Patil. Patil said that he had received complaints from people regarding this bribe case after which he carried out a sting operation by sending his workers at the enrollment camps where he found they found allegations to be true. These staffers were charging Rs.300 to Rs.500 for Aadhaar card. FIR has been lodged against the culprits in a nearby police station.
