Following are the documents required for Aadhaar enrolment/registration.

Except the Aadhaar enrolment form, you are required to take original or attested photocopies of the remaining three documents. The photocopies can be attested by any gazetted/notary officer.

Aadhaar Enrolment Form

Aadhaar enrolment/application form can be obtained from any authorised enrolment centre. It can also be downloaded from the website.
After taking the printout of this form and filling it with your details, you can approach to any authorised enrolment centre along with the PoI and PoA documents to enrol for Aadhaar.

Aadhaar Enrolment Centre

You need to visit an authorised Aadhaar enrolment centre for the process of enrolment. You can go to any authorised enrolment centre/camp nearby you or to any other authorised centre anywhere in India to get yourself enrolled. These centres are also called as the enrolment agencies for empanelment by UIDAI. According to the official reports there are 174 enrolment agencies all over India as on 01.05.2012. A person can apply for Aadhaar number by visiting any of the enrolment camp listed in the country. Search for a nearby authorized enrollment centre and visit it to enroll for Aadhaar.

Change or Update your Aadhaar details online

To provide the facility of changing or updating the details of the people, UIDAI has launched Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal to make things more convenient. Using this portal, you can now modify your details like incorrect name, date of birth, gender or changed address online very easily. For this you need to first login using your Aadhaar number and a OTP sent to your mobile. Later on, you can also check the update rquest status. To change your Aadhaar details follow these following simple steps:
2. Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar Number in the field and click on ‘Send OTP’. You will then receive a One Time Password (OTP-valid for only 15 minutes) on your registered mobile number. If your mobile number is not registered then you will be asked to input your mobile number on which your OTP will be sent.
3. Enter the OTP received on your mobile and the text visible on the screen and click on ‘Login’ button. Be quick because your OTP is valid for 15 minutes only. Airtel mobile users may not receive OTP due to some issue and in that case they can follow the offline method for updating their details.
4. Now check mark the field name which you want to update/change and press ‘Submit’ button.
5. Now enter the new values in the field(s) and click on ‘Submit Update Request’ button.
6. You will then be asked to verify the details you want to modify and if they are correct then tick mark the confirm check-box and press the ‘Proceed’ button else press ‘Modify’ button to edit your changes.
7. Now you will be taken to ‘Update Request Confirmation and Document Upload’ page where you have to select the Document you have as proof and then browse the scanned copy of the same document on your computer and wait till the copy is uploaded and click on ‘Submit’ button. You can also send copies of the document through post
8. You will then see a ‘Update Request Complete’ page stating that ‘Your update request has been successfully submitted on date. Your Update Request Number(URN) is 0000/00111/0XXXX’. You will also receive a confirmation message on your mobile number along with your URN. Keep your URN safe as this will be used to check the status of your update/change request later on. You can also download the acknowledgement slip (in pdf format) by clicking on the ‘Download File’ button or can take a printout of it for future reference by clicking on the ‘Print’ button.

Online Appointment for Aadhaar Enrolment

The UIDAI has begun the facility for online booking of appointment for enrolling for Aadhaar in some selected states. This facility has been started on a trial basis and will be expanded in the whole country if the implementation is successful after some time. Presently where this online appointment facility has been started include Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Along with the facility for booking online appointment for Aadhaar enrolment, the UIDAI has also provided with the facility to re-schedule or cancel the appointment one has made previously.
To book online appointment you need to fill a form where you will be asked the details like your e-mail, mobile number, state or union territory, area type (whether rural or urban), city, locality, enrolment centre which is nearer to you, date and time of enrolment you wish according to your availability. A maximum of four people can confirm their appointment at a time, however, you can book again for getting another appointment schedule. After filling up all the details in the form, you need to click on the ‘Fix Appointment’ button to confirm your appointment.
After that you will receive an appointment slip for Aadhaar enrolment which will contain a token number and the details of the schedule when you can enrol for Aadhaar number. The appointment slip must contain the Centre Location Details, Date and time of enrolment, no. of persons for whom appointment has been fixed, Contact person at the enrolment centre, Registrar Name and Enrolment Agency. After taking the printout of that slip you need to visit the mentioned Aadhaar enrolment centre along with valid Proof of identity ( PoI)- mandatory, Proof of address (PoA)- mandatory and Proof of Date of Birth ( DoB) optional document on the date and time specified on the appointment slip.
If you are not satisfied with the date and timing of you appointment then you can also re-schedule or cancel your appointment for enrolment.

Have you lost your Aadhaar Card or Number?

With a large section of people who have enrolled for Aadhaar still waiting for the delivery of their Aadhaar to their address, there are still many among them who have received them and unfortunately lost it or misplaced their received Aadhaar letter somewhere. If you know or remember your Aadhaar enrolment number or if you have a copy of the receipt of Aadhar enrolment then you your Aadhaar number can be retrieved through it. Your Aadhaar letter will be dispatched again to your address as well as to your e-mail address. You can receive your Aadhaar number through SMS as well if you have registered your mobile no. during the time of enrolment.
  3. Your Aadhaar number will be printed on the card issued by the enrolling registrar. This can be MNREGA job card, PDS’s ration card, etc.
  4. If you know the registrar name through which you have enrolled for Aadhar and date and place of your Aadhaar enrolment then your Aadhar number could be searched according to your demographic information like your name, date of birth, address, contact number, etc. If your details are found in the system then your Aadhar number will be sent to your address, to your e-mail and to your phone through SMS.
  5. Even if this does not work then you need to visit an Aadhar enrolment centre to ask for a lost Aadhaar number retrieval.
  6. If none of these works, the most simple is to download E-Aadhaar letter from the website.

Track Your Aadhaar Status, Aadhar Card Status

It is possible to track your Aadhar status online. For this you need to have the Enrolment No. and Date Time with you which were provided to you at the time of enrolment/registration in the form of acknowledgement slip. Both fields of the form are mandatory and you must ensure that you insert the fields in correct format which is shown just below the input field box. Besides these you must enter the image-text shown on the page in the third field. After filling all the entries click on the submit button. If you receive an error then try again with correct details.

Bank of India introduces Aadhaar linked Dhan Aadhar Card

One of India’s leading banks, Bank of India (BOI), has presented Aadhaar number linked Dhan (Money) Aadhar Card. The specialty of this card is that besides the UID number it also consists of photograph of its holder and can be used in many types of transactions as well. According to the bank, payments under various Direct Benefit Transfer scheme from government can be received through this card. It can also be used like the ATM card is used. Besides this it can also be used in purchasing items, micro-ATM machines and Point-of-Sale (POS).
Krishna Tirath, Central Women and Child Development Minister, while distributing this card to the beneficiaries of Annashree Yojana said that payment of Annashree Yojana, MNREGA, old-age pension and other central and state government schemes can be easily received through this card. During a BOI function in Rohini she said that this card will be useful for those people who do not have adequate access to banking facilities. As a consequence of this it will be beneficial in the overall development. A bank official said that BOI is country’s first bank to provide Aadhaar number linked card to people.
The state government of Maharashtra has decided to make Aadhar card mandatory for teaching and non-teaching staff employees of the state. Aadhar card will be mandatory for these employees to receive monthly payment from the month of August. Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan declared this protocol after a review meeting with UIDAI chief Nandan Nilekani. He directed the officials to stop salaries of those employees who do not have obtained their Aadhaar number.
Faridabad district administration has decided to make few Aadhaar enrollment camps in the district as permanent enrollment centers. At present only Sector-12 enrollment centre has been made permanent one. Soon permanent centers can be setup at other places as well. Aadhaar enrollment work is underway in the district through temporary camps at different locations. Because of insufficient information people have to suffer problems in finding an enrollment camp. This is the reason why administration is planning to make few permanent centers in the district to prevent people from distresses.

Aadhaar mandatory for marriage and property registration in Jharkhand

In a bid similar to Delhi government, the state government of Jharkhand has also decided to make Aadhar card mandatory for marriage registry purpose. Besides marriage registration, the state government has also made Aadhar card mandatory for property registration as well. The registry department has also been directed by the government about these changes in the present system. Under this new scheme not only the buyer and seller of the property but also the witnesses have to produce their Aadhaar details in order to complete the registration process. Since still a large section of people in the state have not got their Aadhaar numbers, this implementation will be effective from January 1 next year at any cost. If one has got Aadhar card but is denying of having it then it will be considered an offence by him and provision of FIR is also applicable under such condition.
Besides marriage and property registration, Aadhar card will also be mandatory for those students who wish to take advantages of pre-matric and post-matric scholarship programs in Jharkhand. This decision was taken during a review meeting of E-Kalyan Yojana last week. The bank accounts of the students will be linked with their Aadhaar numbers and the funds of the scheme will be transferred directly into the student’s bank account making the whole process transparent and fast.
The continuous oppose to Aadhaar from the students of JNU has finally started to weaken as a new circular was issued in the campus asking students to enroll for Aadhaar in order to get scholarship benefits. The circular was anticipated much earlier because of the move of UGC to link Aadhaar with the scholarship programs. Student’s Union at the JNU is still not in favour of such type of implementation attributing to useless fatigue to the students. The students at the campus have not been in with the idea of Aadhaar since the very beginning but now they are compelled to enroll for UID number in order to obtain their scholarship amounts.

Aadhaar not mandatory for EPFO members

Aadhaar number is not mandatory for more than 5 crore members of EPFO for taking benefits of Provident Fund schemes because these schemes do not fall under the category of central government’s direct benefit transfer scheme. Schemes under EPFO and ESIC do not fall in the list of direct cash transfer scheme. An official said that this scheme has been separated from the DBT scheme because DBT is distributing subsidy amounts while PF amount is not subsidy benefits. Earlier it was decided to make Aadhaar number necessary for new members from March 1, 2013 while the completion date was set to 30th June 2013.
The state government of Karnataka has decided to setup special Aadhaar enrollment camps for disabled people across the territory. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after inaugurating a camp said that about half of the state population has enrolled for UID and about 35% have been issued their 12-digit Aadhaar number. He added that separate camps will be held for pregnant women, disabled people, transgenders, and senior citizens.
The state government of Maharashtra has decided to launch mobile van service for remote areas for the purpose of enrolling people for Aadhaar who are unable to visit an enrollment camp. The vans will be equipped with biometric scanners and well trained staff who will enroll people by visiting door-to-door of remote villages. Such step is intended with the purpose of promoting and encouraging people for Aadhaar enrollment. A district will be allotted 5 vans and these vans will operate in all 35 districts of the state.

Aadhaar enrollment to be soon in colleges of Gurgaon

Preparations are underway for running Aadhaar enrollment camps in colleges in Gurgaon, Haryana. Colleges have also put up demands to district administration for providing enrollment related machines to them.Colleges have added a column for Aadhaar number in their admission form from this session. The purpose of this inclusion is to enable scholarship related amount of students reach directly into their bank accounts. Assistance from district administration will be taken for making Aadhar cardin colleges.
In the Sahibganj district of Jharkhand, the process for linking 51,300 pensioners of Social Security Pension Scheme with Aadhaar is underway. In villages where Aadhar card has not been made, agencies have been directed to complete the work quickly. Administration has asked all the people to open up bank accounts in the branches of core banking facilities. In the district, beneficiaries of State Old-age Pension Scheme get Rs. 400 per month, people in the age group of 60 to 79 years and above 80 years get Rs. 700 per month under Indira Gandhi National Old-age Pension scheme, beneficiaries of Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension and Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension scheme also receives Rs. 700 per month.
District Administration of Pakur, Jharkhand has asked its officials to add Aadhaar number in the ration card of the people. District Collector has directed to complete the data entry work of e-ration card of BPL people within two weeks and make entry of Aadhaar number in the data of ration card of the people. There are about 1.08 lac BPL and 63000 APL e-ration card to be made.
The Aadhaar data centre for storing all the data of the people of this country will be the country’s first blast-proof building expected to be ready next year. This blast, flood, earthquake proof building is being built in the IT hub of country in Bangalore. All the data of the people who enrolled for Aadhaar will be stored in digital form at this giant location.

More than 5 lac people waiting for Aadhaar in Gwalior

More than 5 lac people are finding themselves in trouble for not receiving Aadhar card even after a long wait of time in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. No official is present there to listen to their grievances. At the other side camps are being setup at schools for direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme where not only Aadhaar enrollment but bank accounts are also being opened up. Interests among people regarding Aadhar card is rising up while at the other end the speed of card preparation is getting slower. More than 11.5 lac people in the district have enrolled for Aadhaar out of which close to 8 lac Aadhaar numbers have been generated so far while more than 5 lac are still waiting for delivery of their Aadhar card. Enrollment camps have already started from July 5 in schools which will operate till September 8. About 1.2 lac students of the district belonging to SC, ST and OBC category will be provided scholarship through DBT scheme by October 31.
Aadhar cards of middle, high school and senior secondary studying students under School Education Department will be made in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. For this purpose enrollment camps will also be setup at schools of remote areas. This information was given by District Education Officer (DEO) CM Upadhyay during a meeting with principals. Those schools whose students have not got Aadhaar card will have to send proposals to DEO and enrollment camps will be setup after 15th July in the schools.
Government in Dumka, Jharkhand will pay the scholarship amounts to students from class 7th to 10th through Aadhaar based accounts via online transaction. For this a workshop was organized by Education Department at Government Girls Plus 2 College on Thursday. Representatives of various banks present at the workshop were informed that before paying the scholarship amount, Aadhar card of the student will be made and with this Aadhaar number bank account of the student will be opened. About 78% of the district population has been issued Aadhaar number so far.
People of Jammu & Kashmir might have to wait for few more years to avail the benefits of Aadhaar based Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme because absence of Aadhaar in the state could make its inclusion impossible. Low percentage of Aadhaar enrollment and unavailability of wide network of banking services in the state are the two main causes which will become hindrances in the launch of scheme.

Banks demanding Aadhaar number from customers in Varanasi

Banks in Varanasi have started to collect Aadhaar details of consumers in view of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme from October 1. As per instructions from Finance Ministry, Banks have begun to update KYC of existing customers and link Aadhaar numbers with the accounts. Banks are informing customers through SMS and other media to provide their Aadhaar number. Out of 5.25 lac LPG consumers in the district only 1.25 lac have updated their KYC norms with Aadhaar number.
Though UIDAI is praising Himachal for Aadhaar enrollment but ground reality is actually different. According to the authority, 93% people in the state have enrolled for Aadhaar and 83% have been issued Aadhaar number. State government has set a target of 100% achievement in 3 months. According to stats 64,45,602 people have enrolled while 57,23,720 people have been issued UID number. According to a survey conducted by a private organization only 59% people of the state have received Aadhar card. 22% have not received Aadhar card after more than 1 year of enrollment. The authority is blaming postal department for delay for these 22% people while official from postal department are denying these allegations. Those who have not obtained Aadhar card are facing problems in college admission, opening bank account, making ration card and new gas connection. People have been denied of subsidy in those districts of the state where the scheme has been implemented. Those who enrolled before March 2012 and have not received Aadhaar will have to re-enroll for Aadhar card.
Aadhar enrollment work has begun at a quick rate in Rajouri region of Jammu & Kashmir. Officials have asked staff and employees to go village-to-village and ensure that no one is left from enrollment. The work has to be completed in time so that people can take advantages of Aadhaar based services and schemes.

Aadhaar for everyone in Karnataka by June 2014: CM

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has said that the state will achieve 100% Aadhaar enrollment by June next year. He added that about 2.4 crore people in the state have been already issued Aadhaar number while about 2.2 crore other people have gone through the Aadhaar enrollment procedure. The government will also setup more enrollment camps at the hobli level.
LPG subsidy through DBT scheme has marked a significant amount of transactions within 6 weeks of its launch taking the total number of transactions to cross 2.3 million mark amounting to a sum of Rs. 91 crore subsidy directly into bank accounts of LPG consumers. Oil and Petroleum Minister M Veerappa Moily who called the program a ‘tremendous success’ said that so far about 1.25 million families have got benefited through this scheme. He added that the implementation spans across 19 districts of the country covering 7.2 million LPG consumers through 600 gas distributors.
Despite limitations in the present system, country can witness a nation-wide rollout of the DBT for LPG subsidy scheme from January next year. Finance Minister Chidambaram said that the scheme will be extended across the nation by year end. An official declaration regarding this is anticipated in the next few days. The government is in a hurry so that the implementation can be covered to maximum territory of the country before the 2014 General Elections. Launch of pilot project in 18 districts has witnessed numerous anomalies which could also prove to be a setback for the scheme.

Aadhaar must for beneficiary of Food Security Bill in Delhi

According to sources, cheaper ration under new Food Security Bill will be available for only those in Delhi who have got their Aadhaar numbers. Government will also make arrangement from beginning for those who do not have Aadhaar. Employees would be deployed at offices of all the Food Supply Officers in the city.
During a meeting headed by ADC Sunita Verma it was decided that 3 machines will be setup at each ward for Aadhar card enrollment purpose in Faridabad district of Haryana. During the meeting it came into notice that because of lesser number of machines at the centers people have to face serious difficulties for enrolling themselves. Now new company has been appointed by the central government for doing the job in the district. An official from the new company has said that the number of machines will be increased. Deputy Mayor said that at least 3 machines should be setup in each ward. Company will install machine in 15 wards first. After finishing the work here machines will be setup at other wards. List regarding the schedule has been already made available.
The Aadhaar enrollment process has also begun in Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh. Enrollment camps would be setup at Panchayat level in rural areas while at ward level in urban areas. Data entry operator will enroll people in the district and their recruitment process has also started. Enrollment work also began earlier in the district but could not proceed further because company left the work without any notice.
Supply department has begun the proceedings for linking E-Ration and old ration card with Aadhaar number, bank account and mobile number in Jamtara district of Jharkhand. Without providing Aadhaar number and other details beneficiary will not get ration.
Lack of enrollment form in Chandwa village of Latehar, Jharkhand has become a serious problem for the people. People have to stand in queues for hours for enrollment some of them get the form while many have to wait for the second day. Many people do not get form even after many days in queues. People are saying that they are wandering for the form but still do not get it while officials reports that lack of form is the reason for all this chaos.

Aadhar and voter card to be made in colleges in Gurgaon

With the beginning of new session, along with education, students will also get benefits of government schemes in Gurgaon. After the end of mission admission Aadhar card and voter card of students will be made. Education department has instructed all the colleges to make Aadhar card and voter card in the college premises after end of the admission process. These two documents will be mandatory for those who wish to take admission for the 2014 session. This compulsion was also in operation during the previous session but because of fewer students with these proofs, admission procedure still continued. These proofs will also be required for availing scholarship benefits. The education department has also appointed nodal officers for each college to process these amendments.
People of Bilaspur, Haryana are having a tough time during the enrollment process going on in the region. They are forced to wait for hours in queues. Aadhar card enrollment work is underway at all the government senior secondary schools of the district but because of inappropriate facilities at the centre people have to face serious problems. People are saying that the staff people are not even provided with the generator facility to carry out the enrollment work in case of light failure. The staff members say that electricity is unavailable throughout the day. Few people said that they have been standing in the queue for more than 4 hours but still their number has not come and the staff people leave at 5 O’clock without even informing to the people.
The payment of workers of MNREGA scheme will be done only through CBS bank account in Gumla, Jharkhand. Payment rhough post office and other medium will be closed. Besides entry of Aadhaar number of each worker will also be made. An official said that MIS entry of Aadhaar and payment through CBS bank account will eliminate chances of fraudulent activities. It will also help in analyzing the workers. There are hundreds of such workers who have been appointed but are not actually doing any work.
Nayab Tehsil Dar of Semariyawa region of Sant Kabir Nagar, Uttar Pradesh while addressing the training session urged everyone to give preference to the Aadhaar enrollment process. Everyone needs to be prepared for completing the entire job within the specified time period.
 District administration of Solan, Himachal Pradesh has asked all those people of district to enroll for Aadhaar who have not enrolled yet. They have also said all those who have enrolled for Aadhaar before 1st April 2012 and have not received it yet to check theirAadhar card status on the website. The LPG connection holders have also been asked to provide their Aadhaar number and bank details to their respective dealers as early as possible. Authority wants to complete the enrollment work by August 15.

Aadhaar enrollment a headache for people in Banda

Aadhaar enrollment is proving to be a serious difficulty for people of Banda, Uttar Pradesh. They are returning empty handed even after waiting for several hours while company staff members are blaming BLO to hide their lapses. Company is running enrollment camps at 4 schools in the city where people reach early in the morning but find only silence at the premises. On Saturday people reached at a government inter college forAadhar card registration but found staff members absent over there. After that Aadhaar enrollment work began at 11 AM at a very slow speed. People complained that the list which is available at BLO is full of mistakes and it is difficult to find name in that list. BLO says that the list has been provided to him by Municipal Corporation. Anuj Tiwari a staff member said that oil in the generator was stolen by peon of the school due to which generator could not be started on time. Fans at the camps are also not functioning which is posing more difficulty for the people in this hot summer.
SP workers demonstrated by picketing for negligence shown in Aadhaar enrollment in railway colony in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh. Demonstrators alleged that workers who were appointed for form distribution did not arrive due to which cards cannot be made. People reach at school by getting information but return empty handed. When asked to railway officials they said that this problem will be resolved soon.
The doubt of suspicion for making the job of Aadhar card distribution a business of commission is deepening on the postal department staff in Kishangarh, Ajmer. The house where a pile of Aadhar card was found on Thursday belongs to a postal department employee. Various organizations demonstrated at the main post office on Friday and handed a memorandum to the postmaster to file a FIR against the culprit employee of the concerned postal department. People captured two persons who were charging Rs. 30 for delivery of Aadhar card to their owner and with their sign captured thousands of Aadhaar letters from a house. But when postal department investigated on Friday only few cards were found from that place. People told postmaster that two persons were delivering Aadhar card home-to-home by charging Rs. 30 each. When people captured these two they found thousands of cards packed in bags at their home. That house belongs to employee of the postal department. Postmaster guaranteed that if the employees are found guilty in this case then appropriate action will be taken against them FIR will also be lodged at police station.

Two more Aadhaar enrollment centers in Fatehpur

The slow progress of Aadhaar enrollment in Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh could not have been finished even in years. Seeing this administration gave green signal to setup two more centers to speed up the ongoing process and provide people with the Aadhar card. The progress of the situation can be determined by the fact that out of 3.5 lac population only 4000 people have completed the enrollment procedure. The engaged company Electronic Corporation of India has setup 15 machines at a centre even then the work could not be given pace. An official said that enrollment work will be done at three centers in the city for which school administration has been asked.
Although government has made Aadhar card mandatory for brining transparency but Aadhar card itself seems to be far away from transparency. Someone’s Aadhar card is being made in a month while other’s not generated even after years. There seems to be no boundary for mistakes in the Aadhar card. The status on the Aadhar card website is asking to wait for few more months as the application is under process. An official in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh said that Aadhar card of many people are arriving late. Enroller can wait for it or can re-enroll from the beginning for Aadhar card.
Furious staff members at Karari Panchayat in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh went on a strike from Monday. The reason for their strike is the payment which they are deprived off. People who came for enrollment also got angry as they had to spend their whole day for no gain. Aadhaar enrollment work is underway in Karari Panchayat since a week. A dozen of company employees are working at the centre. On Monday these employees began their strike. They said that they have not been paid for over four months. They should get ten thousand rupees but they are only getting six thousand five hundred rupees. The halt of work is posing difficulty for people. They have to return empty handed by wasting their whole day. Supervisor Praveen said that payment of workers will be made soon.

Illegal recovery in the name of Aadhar card in Faridabad

Few people in the village of Atali in Faridabad are charging illegal money in the name of Aadhar card from the people. Neither of the administrative officials have any information about these people. Till now machines for Aadhaar enrollment were placed in urban areas only but now people are charging Rs.100 per enrollment from the people for Aadhar card enrollment in rural areas. When villagers questioned these people about this fee then they were told that they have to travel to city and have to stand in the sunlight. Hearing these points villagers give money to them. Villagers have complained about this to the concerned officials but no official has come to them to see whether these people are genuine or not.
Ration to BPL families will now be provided only to Aadhar card holders in Ambala, Punjab. This scheme is soon going to be launched in block-1of Ambala. Administration has completed all the formalities to implement this scheme. This scheme will soon be inaugurated in few days. An official told that those BPL family members who have not got Aadhar card have also been directed to enroll for Aadhaar. The scheme for distribution of ration to BPL family through Aadhar card will cause a loss for distributors or dealers. The actual stats of people will also up front through this implementation. Chances for irregularities in distribution of ration through Aadhaar card will also get reduced. BPL card holder gets 35 kgs each of wheat and rice at the price of Rs. 2.12 per kg each month. Besides this Aadhar card holder is also provided sugar at the rate of Rs. 13.15 per kg.
Aadhar card is essential for obtaining gas connection and opening a bank account in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. On direction from government of India its exercise has begun. Administration has instructed to make Aadhar card under supervision of the government. However, Aadhar card enrollment work has not started yet at district level. People are eager to enroll for Aadhar card. According to sources similar to voter card Aadhar card will be made at Tehsil level.

Aadhaar enrollment halts in Mathura after a demolition incident at a camp in the city

After a demolition at an enrollment camp few days ago in Mathura, future of Aadhaar enrollment centers is hanging in pendent. Not even a single person has been able to enroll for Aadhaar in the last 20 days in the city.Company has suspended work until it gets justice. A demolition was done at an enrollment camp on July 7. Accused people were released on bail by the court. A company official has said that the investigating officer has removed non-bailable sections from the accused persons whose benefit was received by them and they were released on bail. Opposite to this even after being governments work neither police nor district administration has helped them due to which staff is angry and is firm on its decision of not to open camp until accused people are punished.
Company’s officials have written a letter to CM in this regard and have demanded police to change the investigating officer and perform an impartial investigation of the case. Only one month of Aadhaar enrollment process in the city could have passed after which this incident occurred and since then camp has not been run even for a single day. Aadhaar enrollment work has to run for 4 months in the city but because of present hindrance it can stretch for longer time. In-charge of company Amardeep Sharma told that camps will not be restarted before punishment of the accused ones. Police is not taking the matter seriously whose complaint has been made to state administration and central government. The matter of camps security has also become vital.
Stone foundation of datacenter of UIDAI at Manesar, Haryana was laid down by chief minister of the state. Along with CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda, UIDAI chief Nandan Nilekani and other senior officials were also present during the program. An official said that the construction of this huge datacenter is expected to be completed by June next year. The datacenter is being built over 5 acres of land with international standards and parameters. The datacenter will be one of the country’s most green and energy efficient building. Besides datacenter will be blast proof and highly secured area.
Entire administration of Jamshedpur district has gone busy in preparing up for the direct benefit transfer scheme scheduled to be started from the month of October. The administration is eyeing to achieve 100% Aadhaar enrollment before October month. Officials have also been directed to encourage beneficiaries to enroll for Aadhaar. BDO have been instructed to ensure that all job card holder of MNREGA, beneficiaries of PDS, scholarship taking students and beneficiaries of other pension schemes undergo through Aadhar card enrollment. To reduce crowd at enrollment centers district collector Amitabh Kaushal has distributed companies’ work block-wise. Now only one agency will work at one block. After meeting DC Amitabh Kaushal allotted different blocks to different companies for their operation taking total number of enrollment centers to 30 in the region.

More schemes to be brought under DBT: Finance Minister

Finance Minister P Chidambaram said on Thursday that distribution of LPG subsidy through DBT to all the consumers will come into effect before year end at any cost. He added that pilot project for MGNREGA scheme will be rolled out in the month of October in some selected districts. Finance Ministry has directed banks to collect Aadhaar details of beneficiaries of various schemes. FM also said that more schemes such as fertilizer subsidy and health insurance scheme will be brought under the area of the DBT program. However, he did not say any particular time period for such inclusion.
About 59% of Maharashtra population has got their Aadhaar numbers since the inception of this UID project in 2010. A state minister also announced that compulsion of Aadhaar card for availing various schemes will not be enforced on the state’s people. An official reported that around four thousand machines are in use at present time in the state for enrolling people and they are hopeful to get two thousand more machines for the state.
UIDAI’s Chandigarh Regional Office Deputy Director General Keshni Anand Arora reviewed the Aadhaar enrollment work going on in Gurgaon, Haryana. He instructed the concerned agencies to speed up the enrollment work. He was informed that 8 lakh people in the district have enrolled for Aadhaar and 124 machines are being used currently to enroll people for Aadhar card. Arora said that the target is to achieve 100% enrollment in the state by year end. He asked agencies to send enrollment reports daily to the Chandigarh Regional Office. He said that a toll-free hotline service will also be provided to the people of Gurgaon soon.
Thousands of students in Raebareilly district have not been able to enroll for Aadhaar which could cause them to be denied from scholarship benefits for the new session. Aadhar card of about 18000 students of college level were to be made but till now not even 1800 Aadhar cards have been made. Enrollment camps were run in schools during summer vacations but absence of students resulted in only few enrollments. There are more than 150 intermediate level schools and 2 dozen degree colleges in the district.
Aadhaar enrollment will re-start in Sirsa district of Haryana from August 1. DC said that firstly 40 sets will be deployed in the urban areas and then in the rural areas. Vayam Company of Delhi will do this job. DC asked the company’s official to decide for the location and prepare an outline for the program. DDPO has been appointed as the nodal officer at the district level while BDPO for the rural level. Till now more than 2 lakh 62 thousand Aadhar cards have been made in the district.

Gujarat government to speed up Aadhaar enrollment: Narendra Modi

Gujarat CM Narendra Modi has joined the preparations to provide cheap ration to poor people under the Food Security Bill program. This program will benefit 3.64 crore people of the state. Modi also reviewed the Aadhar card scheme under which out of 1.58 crore Aadhaar enrollers, 1.24 crore enrollers have been issued Aadhaar number. State Government will increase the number of enrollment agencies from 7 to 35 so that all the needy people can get their Aadhar cards in the next 3 months. The Food Security Bill program will provide benefits to 2.48 crore rural and 1.15 crore urban poor people.
District administration of Jamshedpur district has started an initiative of running mobile camps in villages for Aadhaar enrollment. These mobile camps are being run in at least 15 Panchayats and after finishing of the work these camps would be run in other Panchayats. Besides this the number of machines will also be increased by 30. Preparations for DBT in the district are in full swing. Job cards under MNREGA scheme are being linked with Aadhaar card. Bank accounts of job card holders are also being linked with Aadhaar number. Similar to this, along with old-age pension and widow pension, bank accounts of other pensioners are also being opened up. Bank accounts of scholarship beneficiaries are also to be opened up and linked with Aadhaar number. Beginning of Aadhar card of BPL beneficiaries is also in progress. At present a total of 120 machines are in operation. DC reviewed the progress of UID on Saturday and told that he has sent the proposal to administration to provide 30 more machines to the district.
A case of rigged has once again come up front in Aadhar card enrollment. This time the matter is from Karoli village of Rewari district of Haryana where people are being charged for enrollment form. At one end where the agency is making irregularities, at othe end people are also being charged illegally. Company is charging Rs.25 per enrollment form from the people. The interesting fact is that despite department and administration knowledge about this, no action is being taken against the company. When people came to know that they are being charged illegally, they created a furor. They have also complained to the district collector to investigate into this matter.

SSSM replacing Aadhar card in Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh will soon become the first state to transfer cash to beneficiaries without Aadhar card. For this state government has launched Integrated Social Security Mission (SSSM) under which stats will be collected from each family. With this cash benefits of various schemes can be transferred into the accounts of beneficiaries. Recently state government organized a goal maze summit on SSSM with senior officials in which officials were told that how without Aadhar card benefits can be transferred to the beneficiaries. The state government also recently tested the electronic fund transfer system under which wages of remote beneficiaries of MNREGA scheme were credited into their accounts.
SSSM is different from Aadhar card because under this stats will be collected by visiting every house and all families will come under it. Details collected under SSSM include caste, profession, registration in other schemes etc. Modification of data is also done under this which includes addition of birth, death and other information. An official said that connectivity is needed for Aadhar card while SSSM works on the basis of modularity. MP has developed such an infrastructure through which every pensioner and MNREGA beneficiary will get benefits under direct benefit transfer. Later on state scholarship, health related benefits and other payments will be brought under its sphere. According to the official, information of about 80% state families have been prepared. At present benefits are being transferred into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries through SSSM in 15 districts of the state.
Staff members of Aadhaar enrollment agencies were caught red handed for taking bribes from the people in Dombivli, Kalyan. The employees were actually caught in a sting operation run by a NCP politician Nitin Patil. Patil said that he had received complaints from people regarding this bribe case after which he carried out a sting operation by sending his workers at the enrollment camps where he found they found allegations to be true. These staffers were charging Rs.300 to Rs.500 for Aadhaar card. FIR has been lodged against the culprits in a nearby police station.

New problem in LPG subsidy through direct benefit transfer

A new problem has arisen in the LPG subsidy into bank account through DBT scheme. According to the officials, 19 districts where scheme was launched two months ago, less than 40% of the bank accounts have been linked with oil companies’ database. According to the sources, before launching this scheme in rest of the regions Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will review the progress on August 1. Presently this scheme is running in 19 districts covering 72 lakh consumers and 600 distributors. An official told that out of 30,000 Aadhaar holders only 28% were linked with bank and rest are not in the condition to receive cash subsidy through their bank accounts. Government recently conducted a sample survey in those selected districts where this scheme has been launched. Public sector bank officials have blamed oil companies for delay in this. According to the officials, companies provided only 12 lakh applications to consumers which have been linked with their bank accounts. An executive director told that this is only 18% of the total population of these 19 districts. Actually we ourselves initiated to work for 22% more people and now banks are using mobile and internet banking applications to link customers having Aadhaar number. However, oil companies’ officials have blamed banks for non-linkage of Aadhaar and LPG distributors at branch level. An executive also said that in some banks this work is being done at headquarter level instead of branch level.
Jamshedpur police raided 5 cyber cafes in the region and found a heap of forged Aadhar card, driving license, pan card, voter card and other certificates. Fake certificates of Jharkhand and central government were being made at these cafes. Police is suspecting hand of a big gang behind this but is not sharing any information in this regard. Owner of two cyber cafes have been arrested and they are being interrogated. Police said that they will continue this campaign at other cyber cafes as well and will try to find out the work being done over there.
Aadhaar enrollment began in Sohna block in Gurgaon from August 1. There are about 4 dozen villages and Sohna town in this block. Aadhaar enrollment work is being done under the supervision of SDM south Vivek Kaliya.

Special camp for media persons in Delhi on 4th and 5th August

Delhi Journalist Association (DJA) and Indraprastha Press Club of India (IPC) in association with Indian Medical Association (IMA) will conduct a special camp on 4th and 5th August to enroll media persons for Aadhar card and voter card. This camp will operate at IMA headquarter from 10 AM to 5 PM on both the days. A DJA official told that media persons have to come along with address proof and 2 photographs. Delhi’s chief election commissioner Vijay Dev will inaugurate the camp. Before this DJA and IPC have also conducted camps for media persons for making driving license and other purpose.
Aadhaar enrollment team which was alleged to be charging illegal money from the people and making mistakes in Aadhar card of people of villages of Mand Ibrahimwala and Mand Talwandi in Nadala, Punjab ran away leaving behind the enrollment work in midway. SDM is conducting investigation because concerned officials have no information about that team. When journalists queried about this to the concerned officials then they came to know that the team was fake. DFC and SDM ordered investigation into the matter but even after 36 years there is no clue of the team. Population of these two villages is about 1000. According to the people the team had collected more than Rs. 50000 from them. Team was deliberately putting wrong names of the villages. People have demanded to investigate this and begin enrollment from the beginning.
Annoyed villagers of Mau, Chitrakoot , UP beat staff members after a scuffle with them. Police have registered FIR against many unknown people. Aadhaar enrollment of villagers is being done at Tehsil premises of Mau. People of Tiloli village were being enrolled on Thursday. It is being told that three people did not have complete document proof but were still forcing the employees to enroll them quickly due to which a quarrel began between them. The situation got worse and those three people along with their fellow mates started beating employees Dileep Singh, Anil Singh and Raju.
A chaos was observed on the final day of Aadhaar enrollment as a result of heavy crowd gathered at the camp in Chandauli, Uttar Pradesh. The situation was that enrollment form was not available for majority of the people. Some people got the form somehow but because of laxity of staff few did not get receipt while few were handed receipt of others name and photo. This happened to a dozen of people. Many had to return empty handed. Supervisor was also absent from that place. People looked very furious and returned back without doing the enrollment.

Download your e-Aadhaar letter online

After a long wait of time, UIDAI has finally been able to launch its e-Aadhaar portal through which people who have enrolled for Aadhaar and have been waiting for their Aadhaar letter can easily download their Aadhaar letter online and use it anywhere by just taking a printout of the same. To download the Aadhaar letter, it is necessary to have both your enrolment number and date time of your enrolment. The complete procedure for downloading your Aadhaar letter or Aadhar card online is pointed below.
1. Make sure that you have your enrolment number and the date time of enrolment with you in order to proceed for downloading the e-Aadhaar letter. These details can be found on the acknowledgement slip which you got from the enrolment centre after enrolling for Aadhaar.
2. Fill in your details like enrolment number, date time of enrolment, your name, your Pincode and the captcha code in the respective fields and click on the ‘Submit’ button.
3. Then you will be asked to verify your mobile number by displaying the last 4 digits of your registered mobile number. If it is correct then press ‘Yes’ button and then you will receive a One Time Password (OTP) on the same mobile number as a part of verification process. If the displayed mobile number is wrong then press ‘No’ and enter your correct mobile number and press ‘Submit’ button. You will then receive OTP on your mobile number.
4. The OTP will be needed to proceed further and you have to enter the OTP in the next field to get access to the electronic version of your Aadhaar letter or Aadhar card.
5. After that you will be provided with a link to download your e-Aadhaar letter (in PDF format) and to open it you will need to enter your ‘Pincode’ as the password.
